Dear fellow addicts, after reading the comments about the copyright issue, I am sickened that certain people think it is within there right to say what makes NA , NA and what NA isn't. Thank HP that not one person speaks for NA. Obviously certain people have a grudge against the WSO but, without the WSO we wouldn't be saving addicts lives through the NA way because two addicts can't do it by themselves. I am sickened because I beleive the Basic Text is written the way HP wanted it and as we all know HP works through people, so who are we to say that we know better than God? What ever happened to our primary purpose? I am not so concerned as to who has the copyright law in who's name, but what the real purpose is behind not wanting to make it WSO approved recovery literature. Self centeredness is at the core of our disease and maybe just maybe HP has better plans for your book that can touch people in ways that you're not thinking of. Not only that but using the NA name with out it being WSO office approved literature is not just and is a discrace to the NA name. What kind of a message is that sending to newcomers? "Maybe you should try and do it your way" Well, I don't think that many addicts would appreciate such a slander against NA and maybe you should realize that your way is not only only way. Have you asked lately what God's will is and not yours?
NA gave me my life and I will fight to preserve it no matter what the cost and I know anyone who feels the same way would do the same, so I'd think first about what the implications on the fellowship would be.
