I have found that each group's autonomy is quite obvious in this area. I have attended meeting where the format emphasized that if you wished to share to raise your hand so the discussion leader could call on you. I have attended meetings where the discussion leader would call on those that the DL wished to hear from. I attend a meeting currently where we speak as the spirit moves without any overt control as well as attending a meeting where we raise our hands simply to maintain a simblance of order. It would seem as if the old saying, "When in Rome . . ." is probably the best suggestion on this issue. Most of all, it's like the rest of this process - there is no "right or wrong" way.
