How can this book be called Narcotics Anonymous-Way of Life if it is protected under one person's name? It is called this because those who have written are addicts who choose to live the NA Way of Life and have chosen to share our experiences with more than any of us could reach on our own. As for the "protection" that you refer to - I assume you mean the copyright. We live in a society that is governed by laws. It is the law of the land that a copyright must be filed and listed to one entity - that can, of course, be an individual OR can be any legal entity, such as a corporation. If you are a person who feels far more comfortable with a group of folks in a corporation as opposed to a single person, that's OK. It makes no difference to the purpose of this project.

Doesn't NA own all variations of it's name, symbol, etc.? I could probably answer this but will instead refer you to the FIPT. You can find it online at the NAWS website. The service structure is not the 'dog' but rather the 'tail' - check Tradition Nine.

How can this be published without expressed written consent of NA? What is NA? NA is a nonprofit society or fellowship of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. If it would make you feel better - I hereby give expressed direct written consent for any member to publish and share with me how to live the NA Way of Life. This addict certainly needs all the help I can get. Peace, Gayle H.
