I emphasize with your dilemma. Situations like you describe promote disunity. One of our local groups had a similar situation a few months ago. The chairperson for the meeting decided to have a group conscious before the meeting started, had enough support, and the issue passed. This action was brought to our next Area meeting. It was emphasized that group conscious was determined at the monthly group business meeting, and not at the whim of an individual member/members at a NA meeting. Also, home group members should only vote at their home group, on matters affecting their home group or NA as a whole. It does nothing for the unity of NA when non-home group members pack some other meeting to inflict their self-will on other groups. As stated in our literature, no one member speaks for NA as a whole, and I believe no one member speaks for a group as a whole. Our best thinking got us to to the tables, so what would make someone think they know what is best for everyone else at the table. In conclusion, I agree with Bo that you might consider starting another group: also, become familiar with the 12 Concepts of Service. NA has learned many things over the years and that experience can be very helpful.
