Hi, Sweet D, I am grateful for the harsh ones in Narcotics Anonymous and I am grateful for the ones that are gentle, but SINCERE. I guess that I am a little of both and I believe that commitment to one... and only one fellowship is about honest and true commitment. It all comes down to, IF you want what we have to offer, and are willing to make the effort to get it...... Sweet D, if NA is where you think you need to be, forget aboutthe BUT I'M different shit, come into NA and recover. Identify in. Look at the feelings, not where or what you come from. Specialty meetings do nothing but separate us. You think that I can't identify with that guy with childhood abuse issues? Sure I can, cause I might know how he feels. Men, gays, straights, blacks, whites and alot of others lose their kids, know how to do dope, get their hearts broke, and face life every day, just like women do. In NA, we're all the same. Or at least that's the way it's supposed to be. If you decide this is what you want, fellowship with the women, get close to them, but share you're experience strength, and hope with all addicts in the roooms, not just women. You can get your recovery from alot of wonderful people. Our Basic Text is just that, OUR Basic Text. It belongs to NA. Some recover in AA and some recover in NA. Nothing here against AA, but NA is where I recover. This is an NA related website. I only know NA. I believe in keeping the message clear, undistorted and pure for New Comers and for those that have been here awhile and don't know any better.
In Loving Service,
Marla C. Dalton, Ga
