a whole bunch of us read through the youth in recovery chapter and found it to be offensive it sounds like a chapter on how adults can deal with young people coming to meetings. The sentence where it says "If young people are in our meetings for recovery, it might be interesting to take the time to hear them out. We can satisfy ourselves as to the validity of their claim to membership." Now to me that is a break of the 1st. and 3rd traditions. there are a few people interested in expanding upon this chapter to help the young newcomer and young old timer alike there are people in my area that have 3 years clean and are 16 years old ,10 years clean at the age of 25. A Week from now a bunch of us from throughout new jersey and new york will get together to have a workshop and go through the chapter and put are imput into it. when we are finished we will submit it to the group in loving service. yours in loving service, Joe R.
