It is odd that this post comes at the same time that my region is struggling over weather to read the clarity statement at all regional funtions, meetings, etc.

I am glad that my omnipotent Region has given the groups in my area input on the subject. (They usually just decide on these things without the groups input, under the auspices they are "Trusted Servants")

Several addicts are saying that The Clarity Statement is not "World apporved" I do not know weather it is or not. However it seems that the last 3 world conventions I attended it was read at every meeting and workshop.

I think the clarity statement is great. I think it teaches us about unity, not differences. I got clean around the time the Clarity Statement came out. I didn't get offended by it. At the time I was a rebel and a "Alcoholic and a Addict". Eventually it helped me to realize, I am an addict, I suffer from addiction, and am clean today.

So my opinion is that it is good. If I want to focus on what offends other members of the fellowship, I need not look for answers in our literature. When I want the answer to what offends other addicts, I need only look in the mirror, or to see it on a broader aspect, I attend our Area Service Committee Meeting.

In love to the fellowship From Kansas Addict Named Jim
