I think that it is important to explain what you mean by "Members". Our lit. says that you are a member when you say you are. While I agree with the the concept that the only requirement for membership is adesire to stop useing, I also know that unless a member is in RECOVERY they remain just as sick inside the rooms as they were befor they got here. Also when selfcenteredness becomes the motivating factor in the lives of our older members they can become just as sick in there behavior. Again the only indicator we have of this disease IS our Behavior and even that can become very distorted in our oldtimers because we Expect them to be recovering, and newcomers with nothing but their disease to ralate to can sometimes(and often do) get drawn into some very sick behavior by "members" who have been around for a while.
