Dear Fellow Members,
Love is a good subject. It involves energy, feelings, spiritual condition, positive character attributes or the lack of such. Love comes in various forms: agape, family, erotic, divine, romantic and surely other forms. It is a little like air. You can say it is important to life without properly emphasising its importance. You can say it enhances life but the truth may be that real life is love and all else it the lack of life, real life.
My recovery has driven me to extremes and I have found that there is an ocean of divine love that we all swim in as individual souls. Sometimes two people find each other and if all is in order, the have a love worth sharing. We progress to a point in our lives where we find some capacity to love our fellow man and that love is agape, or universal love. Erotic love can take place many times and many places but is always the heat of passion followed by the langor of temporary fullfillment. Family love is the close interaction and truth telling within blood kin or similar, very close, relationships. The other forms of love can be as you say, 'researched' and elaborated on in enough detail to make what I think may be the overall point: that we are limited or lucky in terms of our ability to love. The wider we can inscribe our love circle, the fuller our lives are. The more things we have to trip up that flow of love, the less we can experience the wonder and beauty had human life holds for each of us.
In Loving Service,
Bo S.
