I was just looking back through the post to see if there had been any more recent post to any of the older topics and ran up on this one. I don't think fear plays any role at all in the choice to refrain from religious overtones in NA meetings. Would it be acceptable to handle snakes in our meetings as a show of faith to God? should we all face the east and pray with our faces on the floor? Should we offer communion and appoint a Priest to offer up our prayers. WHO'S religion is it we need to follow? Perhaps we need to offer some type of Sacrifice so that we might be heard? No it's not fear but respect for the Individual's right to believe as they choose that keeps us from endorsing any specific religious group. Christian Included!
