Hello Family, Just touching base, bought a home(the first) in Brunswick and am busy with the move... also JUST landed a new job at a state prison teaching a "state approved" addiction class. PROBLEM- while reviewing their "library" of media, found the notebook for "12 step recovery" a couple of booklets from Hazledon, formats, and... (SIT DOWN) four stapled hand typed pages, the first was "Just for Today" except that the "NA" had been turned into "AA". (I'm confused at this point...turn the page to find in bold print...) What is the Alcoholics Anonymous Program? A.A. is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. We are recovering addicts who meet ... well you get the picture. The other two staffers "normies", (one of whom is my boss and the program director) are sitting nearby wondering why I'm gasping, muttering under my breath and turning various colors of the rainbow in rapid succession... I just said there were some problems with the literatuts, TYPO's??? then I removed the material, I plan to replace it with a set of reading cards, but am still so freaked out that I'm still shaking as I write this... has anyone else seen this kind of mutilation done to our lit? ! ?! ?! !? Is the norm in the penal system?? should I just "be happy that our message is getting in", even if they're calling it AA? ?????? I'm sick... and I guess I needed to let this out in a safe forum, glad for the opportunity to serve, carry correct info, and stay clean another day, love, Missy S
