<<Hi I would like to know if the basic text has a index like the Big Book has? I would also like to know if they have a basic text dictionary like the Big Book has? I would also like to know if in any of the areas in which you live in does NA have a womens meeting there. ? baffled>>

Hi To answer your questions….. 1 – Yes, the Narcotics Anonymous Basic Text has an index. I do not know if it is like the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous.

2 – At this time, there is no “official” (conference approved) Basic Text dictionary. There are several dictionaries in the works based on the Narcotics Anonymous fellowship. One can be found elsewhere on this web site, the NAWOL ADDICTIONARY, a pretty good comprehensive dictionary of recovery terms that we use in NA. This is considered by some to be as “official” as needed. The Greater New York Region of NA is presently working on a NA/Recovery Dictionary, and it also is a good work.

3 – Yes, the Area I live in has meetings that focus on issues important to women. Some Areas also have meetings that focus on issues important to Gay and Lesbian addicts. Any addict is welcome at any NA meeting. You can check a local meeting list in your neighborhood to see if such a meeting exists there. Look in the phone book under Narcotics Anonymous, or go to the World Service web site www.na.org to find a meeting near you.

My question is why are you baffled?

If you need more help, email me. Richie
