Steve WOW.....I noticed you signed your post "in loving service". The tone of your post is anything but loving. It is obvious that Sweet D is new to NA. What a turn off it must have been to read that. Not everyone that first comes to our fellowship understands everything about it. We teach by example not negativity.
Addicts find their way to NA on many different roads. By practicing the principles of our program , we can smooth that road for them. Once a part of NA, we begin to learn more about the fellowship, and the principles of the program that makes our recovery possible.
Oh, dont get me wrong, I totally agree with what you said, I just disagree with the way you said it.
From the WBOT bulletin #13 Regarding Alcoholics Anonymous.....Their literature, their service structure, the quality of their members' recovery, their sheer numbers, the respect they enjoy from society, these things speak for themselves. Our members ought not embarrass us by adopting a "we're better than them" posture. That can only be counterproductive Our members who have used (these sound) arguments to rationalize an anti-AA stand, thereby alienating many badly needed stable members, would do well to re-evaluate and reconsider the effects of that kind of behavior. Narcotics Anonymous is a spiritual fellowship. Love, tolerance, patience and cooperation are essential if we are to live up to that.
