Dear fellowship. Good morning.
My name is Greg and I am an addict.
I find myself fufilling the statement that many of us first learned about the traditions when we got invilved with service...
I have recently found myself chairing an Outreach committee here in San Diego. As a subcommittee we have created literature care packages for those strugling meetings who are truly in need of some "one time" support. There is a cost associated with this obviously and this is being borne by the Area Service Committee.
One of the individuals there has started that this is a 7th Tradition violation. Is it? I am not sure. Everything that I read or understand relates the tradition to entities outside our fellowship. But "Every group ought to be fully self supporting..." Does that relate to service structure donations too?
Please help. I really do want to understand this one better. I want to give back to this fellowship. But not in a negative way.
Thanks family!
Gregory B.
