Hello all. I live in a town of under 7000 people where the only weekly N.A. meeting has five to fifteen addicts attending. The 7th tradition is often just a couple dollars, and I sometimes find myself buying coffee, cream, etc. Fortunately, the meeting is in a community building and we do not have to pay rent. All of the 7th trad. contributions go to help pay for coffee and literature supplies. After a year and a half of being the only person involved in service here, (I started the meeting back up in 2001 after a year of being shut down), I've found that as long as I watch where the money goes, it works out to be enough. The group has had to be carefull not to get in over its head with purchasing more literature than it can afford. Most people in the meeting know that coffee isn't free, and so far it's all worked out. The bottom line is that the funds here ARE going to help our primary purpose. As long as I step back and just let it happen, the message is carried by all the recovering addicts at the meeting. I love how N.A. works.
