I find it very encouraging that members are at last asking questions concerning this material. However, I would caution you about making hard-line judgements of what you THINK NA is or is not. The heart of NA beats when two or more addicts gather together together for the purpose of staying clean. How much more shall it beat when the entire fellowship is asked to share experience, strength and hope by writing and developing NA Literature. My recovery experience is my own, and I have every right and need no permission to share it with a suffering addict. Be it in what I write, say, record on tape, or through any other method I choose to share. The neat little boxes we want to fit everything into do not always apply in Spiritual Matters. NA is a Spiritual program, NOT a group of service committees peddling literature to the masses.

The Foundation Group happens to be my Home Group. No Member has the right to tell me or my Home Group that we cannot carry the message to the Addict who still suffers. We have simply chosen to write down our experience, strength and hope so that it may benefit addicts long after we are gone. Why should we need permission for this? Who has the authority to say that our message of Recovery based on the Principles of Narcotics Anonyomous is not NA? I challenge you to re-examine some of the hard-line "Truths" you think you understand. It will take practicing the Principles so many intellectualize about in order to understand what we are doing.

God Bless you and thanks for the interest. We hope to have your participation as well as all others who care and share the NA Way.

In Loving Service,
Steve S. Dalton GA
